PHILIA

Philia is the Greek word for brotherly love, the love of true friendship and community.

Focus: Philia stands for unity, encouragement, and loving others as family.

“Love one another with brotherly affection.” Romans 12:10

CHARIS

Charis is the Greek word for grace, unearned kindness, favor, and beauty.

Focus: Charis reflects the beauty of God’s grace through kindness, joy, and forgiveness.

“Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:8

VERITAS

Veritas is Latin for truth, honesty, integrity, and the pursuit of what’s real.

Focus: Veritas pursues wisdom, honesty, and courage to stand firm in truth.

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

HESED

Hesed is a Hebrew word for steadfast love, God’s faithful, enduring kindness and mercy.

Focus: Hesed shows devotion through service, compassion, and enduring love.

“His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1

BACK TO SCHOOL RETREAT

Back to School Retreat

Each year begins with our Back to School Retreat, a favorite GCA tradition that brings our Houses together for a time of connection and renewal. Through friendly competitions, shared meals, worship, and time in God’s Word, students grow in faith and friendship while welcoming new members into the GCA family. It’s where house spirit takes root and the heartbeat of our community is strengthened for the year ahead.

FRIENDSGIVING FEAST

Friendsgiving Feast

The week before Thanksgiving, GCA comes together for one of the best days of the year, our Friendsgiving Feast! Each House brings their favorite dishes to share, and the tables overflow with food, laughter, and friendship. It’s a chance to slow down, celebrate all that God has done, and enjoy time with friends before the holiday break.

HOUSE COMPETITIONS

House Competitions

Throughout the year, GCA’s Houses face off in fun and friendly competitions that bring our whole community to life! During lunch and Pulse time, students team up to test their creativity, skill, and teamwork—all while earning points for their House. Whether it’s a quick challenge or a full-on showdown, every event is a chance to show spirit, build friendships, and celebrate what it means to belong at GCA.
